Katra is a town in Jammu & Kashmir that grows busy with pilgrims bound for the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in the Trikuta hills. The Shrine Board manages registration, transport and facilities along the route, and Katra is where nearly every pilgrim begins and ends the Yatra.
